Bone Marrow Transplant

Blood and marrow transplantation (BMT) is an effective therapy for treating a variety of malignant and non-malignant diseases. Within Sutter Health's Northern California network, two hospitals provide full BMT services, one in the Bay Area and one in Sacramento.
Both BMT programs include diagnosis, pre-transplant evaluation, patient/family education, nutritional and psychosocial support, cancer pain management, post-discharge care and long-term follow up. You can learn more below.

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Berkeley/Oakland

Located in the East Bay, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center has provided blood and marrow transplantation services since 1984, and performed more than 500 autologous and allogeneic transplantations.
The program was recently recognized by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT). The FACT three-year accreditation acknowledges the quality of the program, making it only one of two FACT-accredited BMT programs in Northern California.

Serving the greater Sacramento area, the Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation Program has been part of Sutter Cancer Center in Sacramento since 1993.
